Mission Statement
The Mebane Police Department is committed to providing the best law enforcement services available for our citizens and visitors. Staffing our agency with highly qualified professionals, our agency ensures quality service. Our overall success however, will be achieved by the community working hand-in-hand with our department to make this a safe and friendly city. Through continuous progression we will maintain a quality of life that is modeled by all cities.
About Our Police Department
The Mebane Police Department consists of 20 sworn positions.
These positions include Administration, Patrol, Investigations, a School Resource Officer, D.A.R.E. and an Animal Control officer.
The Department operates its own communication system, which includes another three full-time and three part-time employees.
All calls are handled through our communication number, (919) 563-9031. Any 911 calls are relayed to our communications by C-Com.
Accident reports, as well as other reports, can be obtained at the Police Department from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The Mebane Police Department is very pro-active in community policing. Officers are assigned districts throughout the city and are going door to door introducing themselves to the citizens and checking on citizens concerns. Any citizen wishing to form a Community Watch program in their neighborhood is asked to contact the Police Department.
