About Our Police Department
The Mebane Police Department consists of 27 sworn positions. These positions include Administration, Patrol, Investigations, Vice/Narcotics, K-9s, a School Resource Officer, and Animal Control. The Mebane Police Department operates its own communications system.
All law enforcement calls are handled through our communication number, (919) 563-9031. Any 911 calls are relayed to our communications by Alamance and Orange County Central Communications.
Accident reports, as well as other reports, may be obtained at the Police Department from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Fingerprinting may be available 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., on Tuesday and Thursday, for citizens of the City of Mebane.

The Mebane Police Department is very pro-active in Community Oriented Policing. Officers are assigned districts throughout the city and are working with the community to address the citizens concerns. Any citizen wishing to form a Community Watch program in their neighborhood should contact the Police Department for more information.
